Then we have an excellent opportunity for you to contribute to our Additive Manufacturing (AM) team as an AM Qualification Engineer in Baden.

We are looking for an expert in material science and qualification processes for AM technologies. In this position, you’ll have the chance to strongly contribute to our AM and AM supply chain development. In this newly built role based in our global headquarters in Baden, Switzerland, you’ll report to the Head of Manufacturing Technology & Investments and will spearhead the qualification and validation of AM materials, AM processes and AM turbocharger parts. This includes generating, analyzing and evaluating material and quality-related data and optimizing in-house production as well as supplier qualification processes to in the end bring AM to an industrial production standard for Accelleron. With your high level of motivation, manufacturing expertise, experience in the machine industry and your ability to work cross-functionally, you will play a key role in fostering AM as a key technology to add significant value to our business and further increase our competitiveness.

Your responsibilities:

• Lead the development and subsequently own the overall AM parts, material and process qualification for rotating and static parts of turbochargers
• Develop an in-depth understanding of our current production and qualification processes to evaluate and find effective and efficient strategies to industrialize AM for Accelleron
• Collaborate closely with R&D, Value Chain and product teams to streamline the qualification process for AM turbocharger parts, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness
• Manage the preparation, evaluation and documentation of material, part tests and qualification related workstreams, from a application and manufacturing perspective, to drive AM industrialization
• Lead the overall process and part qualification as welle as the industrialization of in-house AM, including the development and implementation of in-house AM quality assurance methods and processes
• Drive the AM supplier qualification processes including supplier risk management
• Operate as a cross-functional translator bridging the gap between different business units
• Lead corporate AM industrialization and change management together with the other AM team members

Your background:

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Material Science with focus on metals, Mechanical Engineering with focus on metal manufacturing technologies, or equivalent); PhD is a plus
• Over 3 years of professional or academic experience in the field of process, material and part qualification in the metal AM machine industry
• Solid understanding of implementing manufacturing technologies including pre/post processing of AM parts and full AM production process optimization in the aerospace or turbomachinery industry
• Proven expertise in metal AM with a track record in laser powder bed fusion; focus on material science and material integrity is a plus
• Proven project and change management skills, as well as strong cross-functional working ability
• Strategic orientation, systematic and analytical thinking coupled with a proactive working style. A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and interest in challenging traditional procedures
• Proficiency in English required; German is a plus
